The purpose of the project is to install a reclaimed water transmission main from the City of Bradenton River Run Pumping Station on 27th Street East in Bradenton to a reclaimed storage facility on Pope Road in Lakewood Ranch. Also included in this project will be the installation of a reclaimed water distribution main that will provide an additional connection between an existing irrigation pump station on Pope Road and two existing irrigation mains adjacent to State Road 70; one connection will be at Lorraine Road and one will be at Palmbrush Trail. Upon completion of the project, operation and maintenance of the reclaimed main will be by Braden River Utilities. The new transmission and distribution main will provide additional reclaimed water for irrigation purpose’s to Lakewood Ranch.
The main will be installed utilizing open trench, horizontal directional drills, and jack-and-bores methods. The Phase II, III, and IV portions of the project will be for the construction of the reclaimed water transmission main. The transmission main will be a 20” pipe consisting of approximately 23,400 LF of open cut installation and 24,500 LF will be installed via horizontal directional drill. Two jack-and-bores will also be performed for the transmission main. The distribution main will consist of 10”, 12” and 16” pipe with approximately 7,990 LF of open cut installation and 2,320 LF will be installed via horizontal directional drill. One jack-and-bore will also be performed for the transmission main.
